There is an incompatibility with MAMP and Yosemite. It usually manifests as the ability to not start Apache, thus giving you a red light. Here are the directions for the first steps of troubleshooting ...

1. Quit MAMP if it is running
2. In Finder open up your Applications folder
3. Open the folder labeled "MAMP" (NOTE: not MAMP PRO)
4. Open "Library"
5. Open "bin"
6. Find the file "envvars" and rename it "_envvars" (place an underscore "_" in front of the word)
   
   
   
   
7. Re-open MAMP and start servers to make sure both lights are lit green.
