Very often the automated emails that come from WordPress contact forms get sent to spam folders. There are some technical reasons that this happens, but the good news is that there is a fairly easy fix. All email providers will be slightly different, but essentially you want to set up a "rule" or a "filter". Here are the steps for how to do this inside Gmail.

  1. We will provide you with a hashtag keyword that is included in your form submission email. In this example, we are using "#xywprimarycontactform".
  2. Log into your Gmail as normal.
  3. Click the arrow that appears when you hover over the right of the search bar.

  4. Enter your hashtag keyword into the "Has the words" form field.
  5. Click "Create filter".

  6. In the next window choose how you want to handle the email (we choose "Star it" and "Never send to Spam").
  7. Click "Create filter".

That's it!

NOTE: As mentioned, different email providers will handle this differently. Please reach out to your email provider for directions specific to your solution.
